What is NDIS Domestic Assistance?

NDIS domestic assistance

NDIS domestic assistance can help people with a disability with day-to-day activities around the home, such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.

It can also include support for meal preparation, personal care, and medication management. NDIS domestic assistance can be accessed through NDIS providers who are registered with the NDIS Commission.

To find a provider, people with a disability can search the NDIS Provider Registry. NDIS domestic assistance is subject to NDIS rules and regulations, which can be found on the NDIS website.

Am I eligible for NDIS Domestic Assistance?

NDIS provides Domestic Assistance to NDIS participants who need support with basic tasks in the home, such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.

The NDIS also provides this support to people with a disability who live in supported accommodations, such as disability housing

To be eligible for NDIS Domestic Assistance, participants must have an NDIS plan that includes this support. NDIS plans are individualised, so the amount and type of support provided will vary depending on the person’s needs.

If you need help with domestic tasks but do not have an NDIS plan, you can contact your state or territory’s community services department to find out what assistance is available in your area under in-home aged care services

How can I access NDIS domestic assistance?

If you are NDIS eligible, you can access NDIS domestic assistance through your NDIS plan. You will need to work with your NDIS planner to determine what type of support you need and how much funding you will receive.

After you specifically determine the types of support you require, you will be able to access domestic assistance which can be used in case you require assistance at your home for cooking, cleaning, laundry, and many more.

What are the benefits of NDIS domestic assistance?
